Starting back in 2017, the 3rd AMEN comes in an even bigger format. 2 stages, 2 sound systems and 2 renowned internacional artists. The place chosen was Ministerium, one of our favorite clubs right in center Lisbon, by the river.
Without genres or bpm restrictions, the annual AMEN rave will bring a night that’ll go from the slow rhythms of UK Bass, through the freshness of Drum’n’Bass, ending up on the iconic Jungle music.
The name “AMEN” comes from one of the most sampled breaks of all time: the AMEN BREAK. First played by The Winstons in their track The Amen Brother, It has since been heavily used in almost every genre of music. Drum’n’Bass, Jungle and hip hop being the most notable. Songs like ‘Straight outta Compton’ from NWA or ‘I want you (Forever)’ by Carl Cox are some of the many anthems made famous because of it.
Main stage - AMEN - powered by Funktion One Soundsystem. Opening hours at 11, will provide the main party area until 6 am with the UK legends, OM Unit and Loxy.
Top stage - DUB - powered by the handmade Mais Baixo Soundsystem. Opening hours at 00h will showcase one of Lisbon’s oldest bass music promoter using a hand made, custom designed Sound System.
Om Unit (UK)
A pioneer in electronic music, Om Unit joins AMEN with his signature sound of rumbling jungle, future drum’n’bass and beautifully blended bass music. Besides some stunning E.P.’s on Goldie’s genre defining label Metalheadz he runs his own label Cosmic Bridge. A haven for artists such as Moresounds, TMSV, Danny Scrilla, Kromestar.

Loxy (UK)
Loxy is one of the most influential producers / DJ's in the history of Drum and Bass. Spearheading new strains of the genre with his DJIng, productions and labels as Cylon Recordings, Xtinction Agenda and CX-DIGITAL, he’s an inevitable artist in the scene. With over 20 years of experience behind the decks, he brings is own take on the revered breakbeat led genre to AMEN. Heavy vibes expected.

ZERO (PT)
Known best for his work on the darker edgier side of Drum and Bass as one half of Broken Sight project, Zero comes to AMEN presenting his vision of the genre’s past and future. Raw energy, flawless mixing and a carefully crafted selection is what we can expect from this Lisbon born artist, with a few of his own dubplates under his belt.

If you’ve ever been to a drum’n’bass party in Lisbon, this guy is probably one of the responsible people behind it. Founder of Kalimodjo, expert graphic designer, and a fox behind the decks, RUIM is known for his classy opening sets, balancing deep textures with the right amount of energy for the nights inception.

Dub Stage - Powered By Mais Baixo Soundsystem
Celebrating 8 years of existence the Mais Baixo collective is an unavoidable reference in Lisbon’s Bass Music scene context. Drawing influences from Dubstep, Grime, Drum and Bass, Dub, in a mash up of influential artists that have a clear vision of what the different styles are about. Their weekly radio show “Pressão Sonora” on Rádio Oxigénio is a perfect example of the collectives contribution to the local scene, with exclusive guest mixes from top notch national and international artists, and expert curated thematic shows on a wide range of genres within Bass Music. Their dedication to sound system music is relentless, building their own handmade “version” of the big jamaican systems that used to shake bones on the 70’s dancefloors. High sound pressure on the 2nd Stage, showcasing the full spectrum of Mais Baixo.

Hailing from the north’s capital Porto, this DJ/Producer has been one of the main artists in the Portuguese Dubstep scene. With vinyl releases on well respected labels as Cue Line, Foundation Audio, and contributing to Mais Baixo’s own “Portuguese Deep Frequencies VOL.2” compilation, 3WA is an artist to watch in the near future. Loads of dubplate pressure expected on his set, a true test to the Mais Baixo SoundSystem.
